Pelvic Organ Prolapse: Drooping uterus?! 🥀 It's more common than you think

Pain in your pelvic area? 😣 Pelvic organ prolapse is a condition experienced by more women than we know, mostly because we aren't even aware that it exists.

Pelvic Organ Prolapse happens when the pelvic floor muscles and ligaments weaken, causing your uterus and/or other pelvic organs to droop into or out of your vagina.

This could be caused by:

🤰 Vaginal childbirth which stretches and strains the pelvic floor
Aging, especially among women
📉 Hormonal changes during menopause, associated with loss of estrogen
🧬 Genetics

Look out for the symptoms! Aside from feeling pressure, discomfort, or aching in the pelvis, you may also see or feel a bulge in your vagina. You may also have pelvic organ prolapse if you find it hard to insert tampons, if you are experiencing urinary incontinence, or are having problems with your bowel movement 🚽
